About us
The General Union of Cameroon Cooperatives (G2C) is a platform born from Cameroon's cooperative dynamic, structured as a non-political, non-profit association founded on the principles of the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).
G2C brings together and supports cooperatives listed across the entire national territory, regardless of sector. Its headquarters is located in Yaoundé, Région du Centre, Cameroun.
Our key missions
- Identify, analyze and address the needs of listed cooperatives;
- Serve as an interface between cooperatives, administrations, and technical and financial partners;
- Promote the exchange of experience, advice and training;
- Organize training, education and information activities;
- Facilitate the deployment of cooperatives, unions, federations and confederations under the OHADA Uniform Act;
- Carry out lobbying and advocacy actions for the entire cooperative movement;
- Maintain a centralized directory of listed structures.
Legal framework
G2C operates within the framework of Law N°90/53 of December 19, 1990, the Framework Law on the Social and Solidarity Economy of April 25, 2019, and the OHADA Uniform Act on cooperative company law. This general SSE legal framework in Cameroon does not grant G2C federation status.
